    Product description:
    The Incredible Organic Buckwheat
The buckwheat plant has been domesticated for over 8000 years. During this time its popularity all over the world has grown tremendously. Food To live offers you a chance to enjoy organic buckwheat benefits in the most delicious form. Our Organic Buckwheat Kasha is tasty, nutritious, low in calories, and high in fiber. It’s gluten-free, non-GMO, and a great addition to any diet plan.
Organic kasha is one of the staple grains in Russia and Eastern Europe, but it also plays a major role in many other cultures. In India, buckwheat noodles are allowed during the time of religious fasting. In Korea and Japan, noodles and other buckwheat products are a major part of a traditional diet.
Organic buckwheat kernels are usually considered whole grains, but they are actually seeds. As pseudo-grains, they are much easier to digest and are generally healthier than grains.
Organic buckwheat is available in many forms. The one known as organic kasha is actually hulled and roasted buckwheat kernels. This type of pseudo-grain is rather nutritious and extremely tasty as roasting enhances its rich natural flavor. The taste of organic buckwheat is rich, a little bit nutty, and with the slightest undercurrent of smoke. As it’s much more flavorful than many whole grains, you can use it as a substitute in recipes.
Organic Buckwheat Kasha from Food To Live
Food to Live Organic Buckwheat Kasha is available in bulk, which means you’ll get enough kernels to enjoy trying dozens of recipes. Our products are tested for quality during every step of the production process and our facility is Organic certified. Therefore, Food To Live guarantees the quality of our organic buckwheat groats.
You can enjoy organic kasha in many ways. Use it as a breakfast cereal or as an ingredient in a delicious main dish, cooked pilaf-style. You can mill grains into buckwheat flour and enjoy making organic buckwheat crepes and pancakes. They taste incredible and are lower in calories than wheat products. Organic buckwheat kernels are also safe to use in any gluten-free baking project.
    Are Organic Buckwheat Kernels Healthy?
Organic buckwheat is, without a doubt, one of the healthiest grains you can find. The fact that it’s not actually a grain only increases buckwheat benefits. It contains lots of fiber and nutrients, a minuscule amount of fats (1 gram in a cup of cooked organic kasha), and is low in calories (155 per cup).
Organic buckwheat kasha is also gluten-free. Therefore, it’s safe for everyone with a sensitivity to this element. In fact, this pseudo-grain has so much fiber and other beneficial elements that it’s good for everyone with a sensitive digestive tract.
    Understanding Organic Buckwheat Benefits
The main organic buckwheat benefits come from the fact that it’s nutritious and low in calories. This combination makes it a perfect choice for a weight management diet. Many athletes also love organic kasha because it gives them protein and fiber without fat.
Due to its high fiber content, organic buckwheat kasha is heart and stomach-friendly. It helps your body cleanse itself naturally as fiber soaks up toxins while it travels through your gut. This means that you can include organic buckwheat kernels into your detox plan.

Who Should Add Buckwheat Kernels in Their Diet?
Organic buckwheat kernels are such an exceptional food that everyone will benefit from it. This pseudo-grain is literally perfect for any diet. Even the highly demanding Paleo list allows for buckwheat groats in moderation.
An allergy to buckwheat is exceedingly rare and this ‘grain’ is very easy to digest. Organic sprouted buckwheat is particularly easy for your body to process when cooked. This is why people who require strictly regulated diets for various health reasons are usually allowed to eat organic buckwheat.
How to Cook Organic Buckwheat Kasha
One of the great things about organic buckwheat kernels is that you don’t have to pre-soak them before cooking. Of course, you can do this, but they soak up water so effectively that in a few hours groats will be all but cooked even before you turn on the heat. This will make them mushy by the time you are actually finished cooking.
If you want to avoid this, you can cook organic buckwheat kasha as it is or roast the kernels for a few minutes. The latter will enhance the flavor and aroma.
Don’t forget to rinse buckwheat groats before cooking to remove any dust and debris.
The actual cooking process is very simple:
    1.
Use 2 parts of water or broth per 1 part organic buckwheat kernels.
    2.
Toast groats in a large saucepan with a bit of olive oil for 4-5 minutes.
    3.
Add water and bring to a boil.
    4.
Cook for about 10-15 minutes at a simmer until all water is absorbed.
As an alternative, you can bring water or broth to a boil separately and pour it into the saucepan with toasted organic buckwheat groats. Then, cook at a simmer for about 5-10 minutes before removing from heat. Leave the saucepan covered for about 15 more minutes.
Season cooked groats with salt, pepper, and any spices you love. They will taste amazing with any vegetable. You can add sautéed onions at the very beginning of the cooking process to enhance the taste of your organic kasha.
Organic Buckwheat Groats with Mushrooms: Recipe
    Ingredients:
    ·
    1 cup organic buckwheat kasha
    ·
    1 ½ cup water
    ·
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    ·
1 onion (large and finely chopped)
    ·
    8 ounces mushrooms (sliced)
    ·
2 bouillon cubes (natural and salt-free)
    ·
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Instructions:
    1.
Heat up the oil in a deep saucepan.
    2.
Sautee onions until they turn golden.
    3.
Add organic buckwheat kernels and sautee with onions for 5-7 minutes. Stir regularly to prevent kernels from burning.
    4.
Pour water with bouillon cubes into the pan and bring to a boil.
    5.
Add sliced mushrooms and stir carefully before covering the saucepan and reducing heat to a simmer.
    6.
Cook for about 10-15 minutes until all liquid is absorbed.
To prevent your organic buckwheat kasha from getting mushy, try to avoid stirring it more than once after you add water. You may also leave the saucepan uncovered so you can see the exact moment when the dish is cooked. Buckwheat kernels will taste amazing even if they are overcooked. However, they will certainly look more appealing if they aren’t.
Season the dish with salt and pepper after you turn off the heat, but while the kasha is still hot. You can also sprinkle some chopped fresh herbs on top when serving.
To make your dish 100% vegan and more natural, you can replace water with bouillon cubes by the homemade vegetable broth. This will enrich the taste of organic buckwheat groats.
Enjoy while the dish is hot, but if you have any leftovers, they will taste almost as good the next day.
Should You Buy Organic Buckwheat Bulk?
You definitely should buy organic buckwheat kasha in bulk if you want to enjoy this pseudo-grain regularly. Buckwheat kernels keep extremely well if you store them in an airtight container someplace cool. Bear in mind that you don’t have to refrigerate organic kasha. However, this would increase its shelf life by a few months.
Please note that due to a rather strong natural smell of organic buckwheat kernels, you should store them separately.
