Description
Hanna Instruments HI981400-02 LCD Temperature Indicator pH Meter with Alarm, 0.0 - 14.0 pH, +/-0.2 pH Accuracy, 0.1 pH Resolution, 230V, 12 VDC
The Hanna Instruments HI 981400-02 is a portable pH meter for use in food preparation and processing with manual one- or two-point calibration, a single-line LCD screen, a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector for pH electrode, and an outer casing with molded eye to hang the meter. A pH meter is commonly used to measure the pH of substances such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial and food applications.
The single line LCD screen of this meter shows the current measurement and has an LED alarm that flashes red when the reading differs from the selected setpoint. The alarm setpoint range is adjustable from 4.6 to 7.5 pH through a setpoint trimmer. Front trimmers allow manual one- or two-point calibration with offset (pH 7) and slope (pH 4) trimmers. The meter has a flat back to prevent rolling when placed on a table and can be wall mounted using the molded eye. The meter also has a BNC connector for connecting with a pH electrode. The input impedance is 10 E 12 Ohm and the power supply is 230VAC. The meter also comes with a calibration screwdriver, 12VDC adapter, and instructions.

A pH meter, also called a sensor or tester, is a device used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH meter has either a portable or a benchtop body. Many portable meters are handheld devices. Some testers have an internal sensor, and may have a tip and body that fit inside of a container for measurement. A meter is commonly used in many different environments from laboratories to field research and manufacturing facilities. Researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists use a pH meter in aquaculture, agricultural, wine-making, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. Some pH meters may measure additional parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity (also called electro-conductivity or EC), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, resistivity, or oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV.
Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
